The Characters

 Character: Aang

                         Bender: Air

Profile: Aang is the avatar and the last airbender. He is from the the Southern Air Temple which was destroyed by the fire nation during his 100 years trapped in an iceberg. His destiny is to stop the fire lord and his army from controling the four nations. 

 Character: Katara

                                                       Bender: Water

Profile: Katara is a water bender from the southern water tribe.  She and her brother found Aang trapped in the iceberg. Katara has recently been declared a master of water bending by her Master Paku in the northern water tribe. She has excelled much with her water bending while traveling with Aang. 

Character: Sokka

                                                    Bender:None (warrior)

Profile: Sokka is the only man of the southern water tribe. The rest of the men left for the war against the fire nation a few years before he and Katara found Aang in the iceberg. At first Sokka was a poor worrior, but he quickly excelled with the help of the ladie worriors of Kioshi. He has excelled much in his worrior skills while traveling with the avatar.

Character: Prince Zuko

                            Bender: Fire

Profile: Prince zuko was banished from the fire nation at the age of 14. He had spoken out of term at a war meating. He was challenged by The Fire Lord, his father, for his dignaty after he had spoken out of tern. He failed, and it resulted in the scar on  his left eye and banishment from the fire nation. His goal is to capture the avatar. That is his only hope of returning to the fire nation. He is now traveling on foot because his boat was destroyed by a group of pirates. He and his Uncle are now on the run from Zuko's sister,Azula, who is leading the capture of the two to bring to the fire lord as prisoners.  

Character: Uncle Iroh

                                Bender: Fire

Profile: Iroh is a former general of the fire nation army and the uncle of Prince Zuko. He is traveling with Zuko to help him in the capture the avatar. He and Zuko are still on the run from the fire nation army but they still continue the search for the avatar.
Character: Monk Gyatso
                                                     
                                                     Bender: Air

Porfile: Monk Gyatso is an Air Bender from the Southern Air temple. He raised Aang. While Aang was trapped in the iceberg, the southern air temple was attacked by the Fire Nation and he was killed along with many other air benders. Aang remembers  Monk Gyatso in his memories.

 Character: Gran- gran

                             Bender: None (tribe elder)

Profile: Gran- gran is the grandmother of Katara and Sokka. She was introduced in the story in the first and second episodes. After that she was never seen again (well, so far) but, she was mentioned in episode 18, The Water Bending Master.

Character: Haru

                                         Bender: Earth

Profile: Haru (as seen in episode 6, Imprisoned) is an earth bender from a town controled by the fire nation. In his town, earth bending is forbidden. If a fire nation soldier had caught an earth bender, he or she would be tranported to a ship with no earth materials on it, or so they think. Haru was one of these prisoners who was caught earth bending. (*watch episode 6 to find out what happens*)
